So, yeah, while I'm working on a class assignment, I realized that there's two RPGs I'm currently doting on are both based in ancient Greece:
Mazes & Minotaurs, which is thankfully not at all part of the Old School Renaissance, and
Hellas: Worlds of Sun and Stone, which according to its website just kickstarted a second edition. Feh.
M&M is a free online RPG postulating an original RPG based on Bullfinch & Harryhausen instead of Tolkien and Lieber. I kind of want to tinker with it to play Sinbad (although I wager that's been done in one or two issues of The Minotaur). Hellas is a Space Opera RPG where you play generations of divinely descended heroes fighting Space Persians. Of course I'm not likely to ever play either of them anytime soon (both of them are right in
mr_weasel's wheelhouse), but Hellas is so wonderfully put together and M&M is such a wonderful labour of love that I just want to hug them both. Getting out a bag of chips & a couple 2 litres of Mountain Dew would just be icing on the cake.
